"Ys VIII" Localization Fix Delayed Along with PC Release
Last month NIS America president and CEO Takuro Yamashita came out to apologize for a Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA localization that was deemed unsatisfactory. He promised an update for November in the form of a free patch, but players will need to wait a little longer for it. The fix has been pushed back to early 2018, which also means the definitive PC version will follow suit.
The current state of progress was revealed in a blog update by NIS America Senior Associate Producer Alan Costa, who is currently heading up the Ys VIII revision project under Yamashita. According to Costa, the project involves reviewing and revising the translation with a new translator, a complete script re-edit, voice re-recording, and debugging of the new build.
NISA will also be incorporating external feedback, so look for further details between now and the early 2018 launch.
