"The Caligula Effect" Game Inspires TV Anime and New PS4 Remake
Last week FuRyu promised big announcements for The Caligula Effect RPG, and they definitely delivered on that. During a live stream presentation, the company revealed plans for both a TV anime adaptation and a new remake of the game on PlayStation 4.
A website for the anime adaptation is now live, and it’s set to premiere in April 2018. Cast members from the game—which include the likes of Chiharu Sawashiro, Rie Murakawa, Shunsuke Takeuchi, Rie Takahashi, and Yoshimasa Hosoya, among others—will reprise their roles for the anime.
There’s also a remake of the PS Vita game planned for PlayStation 4, using Unreal Engine 4 and and featuring a new Forbidden Musician Route that doubles the amount of content. The Caligula Effect: Overdose will have new songs, new members of the Go-Home club (voiced by Maria Naganawa and Kenji Akabane), new endings, and the addition of a female protagonist voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro.
