Ryo Mizuno’s "Record of Grancrest War" Light Novel Gets Anime Adaptation
Following other exciting announcement, it was finally revealed at Fantasia Bunko Big Thanks Festival 2016 that an anime adaptation of Ryo Mizuno’s Grancrest Senki/Record of Grancrest War is now in development. No other details were announced. Mizuno is best known for his fantasy novel series such as Record of Lodoss War (1988-) and Rune Soldier (1998-).
The story of Record of Grancrest War is set in a continent dominated by chaos. It tells an adventure of lonely genius magician Shiruka and knight Teo to seek “Grancresto” (literally means the emperor’s sacred stamp) that is considered as the crystal of order. The first volume was published from the Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint in August 2013, and the latest eighth volume is set to be released on November 19, 2016. Its manga adaptation illustrated by Yostuba Makoto has been serialized in Hakusensha’s Young Animal since June of this year.
