Live-Action "One Piece" TV Show to Kick Things Off in East Blue
At this early stage, most of the recently-announced live-action One Piece TV series is a big ol’ question mark. It’s hard not to be intrigued, though, and fans got another idea of what to expect during Jump Festa 2018 in the form of a video message.
The message came from Prison Break‘s Marty Adelstein, who is acting as producer for the Hollywood adaptation. He said they plan to kick things off with the East Blue arc—which is precisely where Eiichiro Oda’s manga began—after which they will “broaden from there” in what they hope will be a “true One Piece.”
The series is currently in the works at Tomorrow Studios. Adelstein has discussed the project with Oda, who previously promised that the live-action series wouldn’t betray One Piece‘s long-time fans.
