"Kaiji" Variety Game Show Seeks Part-Time Goons
Crunchyroll previously reported on how TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting System) is hosting a variety game show program inspired by Nobuyuki Fukumoto’s high-stakes gambling manga, Kaiji, and how they were looking for contestants with outstanding debts to participate. Now the program is offering a new opportunity to make money: as one of the black-suited, sunglasses-sporting goons who work for the villainous Teiai Corporation.
The program is looking for 3 – 5 people to bring their own black suits (ties and sunglasses will be provided). The actual duties of the goons are like those of production assistants, i.e. running various errands and reporting to Yukio Tonegawa, a top executive of the Teiai Corporation. The job pays transportation expenses plus a wage of 91,000 yen (about $807 US) for 1 – 2 days of work (approximately 8 hours per day) in early December of 2017.
Interested parties can apply through a special website. There are no restrictions based on age, experience, or gender, although the production is looking for goons who “possess an honest character” and who enjoy bowling. The application process is open until November 21, 2017. The Kaiji variety game show program will broadcast on TBS near the end of 2017.
