Gintama Rumble Game Adds Kamui, Tsukuyo as Playable Characters
The official website for Bandai Namco Entertainment‘s Gintama Rumble (Gintama Ranbu) PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita action game announced on Friday that Kamui and Tsukuyo will be playable characters in the game. They join previously announced playable characters Gintoki, Shinpachi, Kagura, Katsura (with short hair), and Takasugi.
The site also revealed that Housen and Abuto join Nizō Okada as boss characters. The game’s modes include a “Benizakura Chapter” and a “Yoshiwara in Flames Chapter.” Stages include Kabukicho, Flying Warship, and Housen’s Building.
The game is slated to ship in Japan on January 18. Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia is releasing the game in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, and Indonesia with English subtitles on the same day as Japan.
The game will have a Limited “AV Edition” release that will include 16 songs from the anime, as well as 60 additional voiced lines. Those who pre-order the game will also get a drama CD. The limited edition PS4 version retails for 10,600 yen (about US$94), and the regular PS4 version retails for 7,600 yen (US$67). The limited edition PS Vita version retails for 9,800 yen (US$87), and the regular PS Vita version retails for 6,800 yen (US$60).
Weekly Shonen Jump announced the game as the “Gintama Project Last Game” for PS4 and PS Vita in July.
Gintama inspired its first smartphone game titled Gintama Kabukichō Daikatsugeki (Gintama Kabuki District Great Action Movie) for iOS and Android that launched last year. Hideaki Sorachi‘s original manga has also inspired previous games for the Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, Wii, and PlayStation Portable.
