Details of "BANANA FISH" TV Anime Project to be Revealed on February 22, 2018
Aniplex announced today on December 25 that a press conference for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Akimi Yoshida’s crime action manga series BANANA FISH was set to be held in Tokyo at 18:00 on February 22, 2018 (JST). The anime’s new key visual, main voice cast, additional staff, and first PV are scheduled to be revealed.

The TV anime project was announced in October as a part of the 40th anniversary for the manga author’s artist activities. Hiroko Utsumi, best known for her directorial works for Kyoto Animation’s Free!
series, is attached to direct, alongside series composition writer Kouji Seko (Mob Psycho 100, Inuyashiki)
and character designer Akemi Hayashi (Fruit Basket, Dokyusei). MAPPA (In this Corner of The World,
Garo: Vanishing Line) works on anime production.
All-color “Mangaka-bon Special: Yoshida Akimi-bon” is released today in Japan. The 288-page book introduces
her manga works for 40 years, including three short stories that have never been published in tankobons.
The reissue box of the original 19 tankobon volumes (released from 1986 to 1994) will begin on March 9, 2018.
