Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony Gets PS4, PS Vita Console Variants in Japan
Sony announced on Wednesday that Spike Chunsoft‘s Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony (New Danganronpa V3: Minna no Koroshiai Shin Gakki) PlayStation 4 and Playstation Vita video game is inspiring corresponding console variants in Japan.
The “New Danganronpa V3″ limited edition PlayStation 4 model comes with a Jet Black body and a top cover featuring mascot Monokuma. It also comes with a custom theme and matching packaging. The console costs 33,480 yen (US$284) for the 500GB version and 38,480 yen (US$326) for the 1TB version. Both will ship on January 12.
The PlayStation Vita variant can be ordered in either black or white. The handheld console is engraved with 16-bit versions of the game’s characters flanked by a waving Monokuma and the “Team Danganronpa” logo. It also comes with a custom theme and packaging. The PS Vita costs 20,980 yen (US$178) and also ships on January 12.
NISA will release the Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony game in North America and Europe physically and digitally for the PS4 and PS Vita, and will also release a limited edition version of the game for the PS4. The limited edition, which is only available on NISA’s online store, includes a “limited edition deluxe soundtrack,” the original soundtrack for the game itself, a hardcover art book, a hat, a backpack, headphones, and a collector’s box. NISA will release the game in 2017.
NISA describes the game:
Welcome to a new world of Danganronpa, and prepare yourself for the biggest, most exhilarating episode yet. Set in a “psycho-cool” environment, a new cast of 16 characters find themselves kidnapped and imprisoned in a school. Inside, some will kill, some will die, and some will be punished. Reimagine what you thought high-stakes, fast-paced investigation was as you investigate twisted murder cases and condemn your new friends to death.
The game will ship in Japan on January 12. A limited edition will be available on that day with the brand-new original anime Super Danganronpa 2.5 Kamaeda Nagito to Sekai no Hakaisha (Super Danganronpa 2.5: Nagito Komaeda and the Destroyer of the World) on Blu-ray Disc.
While New Danganronpa V3 will inherit the mascot character Monokuma and the basic system from previous games, it will not take place at Hope’s Peak Academy and will not feature any other returning characters.
