Boruto to Naruto: Shinobi Striker, Narutimate Storm Trilogy Games Confirmed in Europe, U.S.
Bandai Namco Entertainment America and Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe confirmed on Monday that Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, a new game in the Naruto franchise, will ship in the West for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. The companies began streaming English-dubbed and English-subtitled versions of an announcement trailer for the game that Gamespot and other news outlets began streaming on Friday.
Soleil, a subsidiary of Valhalla Game Studios, is developing the game. This year’s 19th issue of Shueisha‘s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed the game on Monday. The magazine describes Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker as an “acrobatic ninja battle” game for the PlayStation 4. The game will have an online component, and players can form four-person cells in multiplayer to fight against another four-person cell for a total of eight players. The game has no set release date.
The companies also confirmed that Naruto Shippūden: Narutimate Storm Trilogy, the game bundle of the first three games in the Ultimate Ninja Storm (Narutimate Storm in Japan) game series, will ship in the West for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. The game will ship under the title Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Legacy in the West this fall. The American and European arms of Bandai Namco Entertainment began streaming English-dubbed and English-subtitled versions of a Japanese promotional video that the company began streaming on Monday.
The Narutimate Storm Trilogy bundle is slated for release for PlayStation 4 in Japan on July 27, and it will cost 6,800 yen (about US$61). The first edition of the game’s physical version in Japan will bundle a poster, and the first edition of the physical and digital copies will include a serial code with access to view the Boruto anime that screened at last year’s Jump Special Anime Festa event in Japan.
