Voice Actor Toshiyuki Morikawa Plays Entire Cast of "Kamigami no Ki"
Voice actor Toshiyuki Morikawa will have his hands (or rather, his mouth) full with his roles in Kamigami no Ki, an upcoming short-form TV anime that re-imagines the gods of ancient Egypt as cute mascot characters, because Morikawa will be providing the voices for all of the characters: Bastet, Anubis, Ra, Mejedo, Iabi, and Ahkeu.
According to Morikawa, he thought the producers were kidding at first when they asked him to play all of the roles, but he was happy to throw himself into the performances so that viewers can forget that all of the voices are coming from one person and just enjoy the show. Morikawa also performs the theme song for the show, entitled “Kamigami o tataeru uta”.
Kamigami no Ki will begin broadcasting on November 24, 2016, as part of Fuji TV’s #Hi_Poul variety show, a late-night TV program that occupies the 25:25 time slot. (Please note that because some Japanese broadcasts count early-morning programming as late-night programming of the previous day, the 25:25 time slot on November 24 is actually at 1:25 AM JST on November 25.)
