TMS Entertainment Plans TV Anime "Megalo Box" Inspired by "Tomorrow’s Joe" for Spring 2018
TMS Entertainment today revealed its new original TV anime project Megalo Box based on Ashita no Joe/Tomorrow’s Joe boxing manga written by Ikki Kajiwara (as Asao Takamori) and illustrated by Tetsuya Chiba in 1968-1973. The one of the most influential sport manga in the Japanese manga history will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year, and Megalo Box will be aired in the Spring of 2018 as one of its anniversary projects.
The anime’s official website posts an story introduction as below:
A ring in the dim underground.
A man called “JD (Junk Dog)” again yields himself into a got-up match today.
The “fate” that he wants to challenge with everything he’s got.
Yo Moriyama, best known as the visual concept designer for the Attack on Titan anime series, serves as
director, alongside series composition writer/script writer Katsuhiko Mamabe (Fist of the North Star: The
Legends of the True Savior) and Kensaku Kojima (Shinya Shokudou). 33-year-old Japanese multiplayer/
producer mabanua works on soundtrack music.
