Three Main Cast Get Ready for 3rd "Kuroko’s Basketball" Stage Play
The official website for the upcoming third stage play adaptation of Tadatoshi Fujimaki’s popular sports manga Kuroko’s Basketball has been updated with a teaser visual featuring its three main cast, including 28-year-old voice actor Kensho Ono who is again set to reprise his role as the protagonist Tetsuya Kuroko. He has been voicing the character in the anime adaptations since 2012, and also played the character in the first two stage plays in 2016 and 2017. The visual also features Yuuya Asato as Taiga Kagami and Shouta Konuma as Daiki Aomine, who are also confirmed to return.
While not much details are available now, the story of the third play focuses on the Winter Cup (the National High School Basketball Championship Tournament), one of the three major high school basketball tournaments in Japan, according to the website.
Norihito Nakayashiki, who helmed the previous two plays: “THE ENCOUNTER” in April 2016 and
“OVER-DRIVE” in June-July 2017, is confirmed to serve as director again. It is scheduled to be performed
at Sunshine Theater in Tokyo, Morinomiya Piloti Hall in Osaka, and Nippon Seinenkan Hall in Tokyo from
April to May 2018. The schedule for the ticket sales will be posted at a later date.
