"The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV" to Have Most Playable Characters in the Series
Falcom previously revealed The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV ~End of Saga~ as the final entry in the Trails of Cold Steel series, and according to a recent interview with Famitsu, they’re definitely feeling the pressure. Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo spoke with the magazine and shared new details on the closing chapter, which is currently around 45% complete.
Right from the start, Trails of Cold Steel IV is being billed as a high-volume RPG loaded with content. Chief among that content is the number of playable characters available, which Kondo says is higher than the previous game and every other entry in the series. With characters recurring and new, Falcom hopes to focus on each while telling a story as if it were a standalone RPG.
There still seems to be an air of mystery surrounding the story itself, and Kondo wants players to think about whether or not Rean Schwarzer is even the protagonist. Meanwhile, Lloyd Bannings and other returning characters are all barreling toward an ending that’s been in the works since the finale of The Legend of Heroes: Ao no Kiseki.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV ~End of Saga~ is currently set for a fall 2018 Japanese release window on PS4.
