"Seiren" Announces Male Leads and Themes
After several announcements introducing the many ladies of the upcoming anime Seiren, we now have two male cast members joining the fray. Atsushi Tamaru and Ryōta Asari will be joining the predominantly female cast in the new series, set to come out this coming January.
The series, created and designed by Amagami SS‘s Kisai Takayama, will also have a similar format: the series will be presented in omnibus format, with focus placed on one girl at a time. Each girl will also perform a different ending theme.
The opening, “Kimi no Hana,” is being performed by Hanako Oku. She said the story of Seiren reminded her of her own school life and her first romances, and she hopes that her song will help to expand upon that theme.
The aforementioned male leads will serve as the central characters around which the omnibus moves:
Shouichi Kamita (voiced by Atsushi Tamaru): The protagonist of the series. A young man who believes in helping people who are in distress, but doesn’t know what to do when he himself is in trouble. Video game lover and secret lech.
Ikuo Nanasaki (voiced by Ryōta Asari): Shouichi’s best friend, a cool-tempered student with good grades. In his younger days he was more mischievous, but his sister straightened him out.
The first episode of Seiren will premiere on January 5, 2017. A special screening will be held at Shinjuku Wald 9 on December 29 with Atsushi Tamaru, Aya Sakura (the voice of Hikari Tsuneki), and Hanako Oku in attendance.
