Original Games’ Red, Blue Return in Pokémon Sun & Moon
The original rival characters Red and Blue (known as Green in Japan) are returning in the upcoming Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon games. The games unveiled official art and a trailer on Thursday that features updated versions of the primary characters from Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue.
For comparison, here are the designs of the characters from the original 1996 games:
Although fans like to comment on Ash’s apparent discovery of the Fountain of Youth and lack of aging in the anime, Red and Blue seem to have matured over the past 20 years. To find out what kind of people they became, Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon players will be able to face off against silent Red and cocky Blue in the upcoming games. Players will also be able to team up and battle against other famous trainers from the franchise.
Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will debut in Japan and North America on November 18, followed by Europe on November 23.
