New "Final Fantasy XV" Details Emerge, Including Sub-Weapons and Shiva Summon
We’re only a couple of weeks out until we get our hands on Final Fantasy XV officially, and as such Square Enix has come forward with a bevy of new information surrounding the game, including sub-weapons and the Ability Call system, as well as the Shiva summon and city of Altissia.
From the press release:
Your three partners can equip a main weapon and a sub-weapon. Gladioulus uses shields, Ignis uses lances, and Prompto uses machinery. Configure their respective weapons and switch according to the situation!
When you lodge every night your level and status will settle and progress, but personal abilities are strengthened through a system called “Ability Call.”
On your journey, you’ll accumulate and expend Ability Points (AP). Abilities will be learned depending on the various actions you perform. The system is divided into branches and according to which branched system you decide to strengthen, you can make an overwhelmingly original party. Choose the ability you want to learn and unlock it by using AP. Ignis’s ability “Analyze” displays the effect of Libra! You can see things such as HP and resistances of the enemy you’re locked-on to.
Summoning Shiva: Diamond Dust
Noctis will be able to summon the voluptuous, dancing Shiva. An expansive snowscape spreads out all over the area. When multiple Shivas gather, they can turn it into winter in a single shot.
The city of Altissia is a city on the water with a stylish townscape that continues on. Dignified buildings are lined-up all throughout the city. You can also go around the city in a gondola.”
