Miitopia 3DS Game Heads West This Year
Nintendo revealed during its Nintendo Direct presentation on Thursday that its Miitopia Nintendo 3DS game will launch in the West later this year.
The game shipped in Japan in December.
In the game, players play as a protagonist in an adventurous world of swords and magic. Players’ can take Miis they like along with them as companion adventurers with classes such as a sorcerer, warrior, monk, thief, or other non-conventional classes such as idol, cook, cat, imp, military tank, and more. In the game, an evil Great Demon King is stealing the faces of the inhabitants of Miitopia, and players must travel the world and defeat the Great Demon King to return their faces.
Players can also choose the cast for the Great Demon King from their favorite Miis, and can also decide the personality of their companions, such as “full of energy,” “kind,” “does things at their own pace,” or “stubborn.”
Players can also stay at inns on their adventure, and choose to stay in a room with one of their companions, which will trigger certain scenes and level up their relationship. Relationships between the Miis can also sometimes cause fighting or other consequences. Players can also give money to their companions so companions can buy new weapons, items, or costumes.
