Love Bridges the Age Gap in "Hana wa Saku ka" Film Poster
The official movie poster has been revealed for Hana wa Saku ka (“Does the Flower Bloom?”), an upcoming live-action film based on the boys’ love manga by Shoko Hidaka about a young art school student and a middle-aged advertising executive who fall in love.
In Hana wa Saku ka, Tsurugi Watanabe stars as Yoichi Mizukawa, a 19 year old art student who begins a romantic relationship with Kazuaki Sakurai (played by Hironari Amano), a 37 year old professional advertising agent, after the two men meet at a TV commercial shoot. As they grow closer, complications in Kazuaki’s work life threaten to drive a wedge between them.
The original Hana wa Saku ka manga is serialized in Gentosha’s Rutile manga magazine. The Hana wa Saku ka live-action film is directed by Kaori Tanimoto and also stars Akihisa Shiono, Atomu Mizuishi, and Yasukaze Motomiya. Hana wa Saku ka hits theaters in Japan on February 24, 2018.
