Get Fancy with New "Tokyo Tarareba Musume" Fashion Collaboration
Tokyo Tarareba Musume, from Princess Jellyfish Akiko Higashimura, is all about the troubles of being a single working Japanese woman past the Big 3-0. The main character, Rinko, vows to find love by the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
With a live-action adaptation on the horizon, the series is expanding its reach into the real world even more with a pop-up event. From January 18-31, Isetan Shinjuku will be hosting a Tokyo Tarareba Musume event that hopes to not only promote the upcoming series, but also give a “push” to women in the same demographic as the stars of the story.
Via a collaboration with high-fashion brand Muveil, fans of the manga will be able to buy special edition clothes, accessories, hats, manicure goods, and more featuring motifs from the manga and tailor-made for working women in their 30s. There will also be photo-op areas featuring standees of the characters, as well as a display advertising the first episode of the live-action series.
The live-action adaptation of Tokyo Tarareba Musume premieres January 18 on NTV.
