Final Fantasy XV ‘Episode: Gladiolus’ DLC Trailer, Gameplay Videos Streamed
Square Enix began streaming a trailer for the “Episode: Gladiolus” DLC for the Final Fantasy XV game on Sunday. The trailer previews the episode’s antagonist Gilgamesh.
Famitsu additionally began streaming a 10-minute gameplay video for the DLC content on Sunday, which shows Gladiolus fighting alongside Cor Leonis.
Video game news website Polygon began streaming a 10-minute gameplay video of the DLC content’s English version on Wednesday.
Square Enix will release the story episode on March 28.
The new story episode is the first in a series of story episodes focusing on each of the main characters of Final Fantasy XV, with episodes focused on Ignis and Prompto also planned.
The game went on sale worldwide for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 29.
The game’s director Hajime Tabata stated that the game broke even with development costs on “day one.” As of January 10, the game had sold more than 6 million copies worldwide. The number includes physical shipments and download sales.
The game’s combined digital sales and shipments exceeded 5 million copies on launch day. This is the fastest record for Square Enix‘s Final Fantasy franchise.
The game also set a new record for first-day download sales for a Square Enix title in Japan. Similarly, the game set a new record for first-day download sales plus packaged shipments for a Square Enix title in Asia (excluding Japan).
